Please note: Placement tests for English, German and Spanish!

If you are not a complete beginner in English, German, or Spanish, you have to complete a placement test in StudIP before registering for language courses in StudIP. You can find this by typing in "Einstufungstest Deutsch" or "Einstufungstest Englisch" or "Einstufungstest Spanisch" into the field "Search for courses" in StudIP. Once you complete a placement test, you can register for courses an hour later. You can see further help on this function at  http://www.fsz.uni-hannover.de/hilfe.html (also in English!).

For winter semester, we will only accept test results that were completed AFTER 1st September. For summer semester, we will only accept test results that were completed AFTER 1st March.

THE RESULT OF THE PLACEMENT TEST IS BINDING FOR COURSE REGISTRATION; NO OTHER CERTIFICATES SUCH AS TOEFL OR DSH WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Language Course Registration (Stud.IP)

Stud.IP, a course management system, allows tutors to organise their courses online. Here participant lists can be created and tutors can communicate easily with students, providing them with access to files and other important information.

Registration for FSZ language courses is completed exclusively via Stud.IP. Candidates must initially apply for desired courses via Stud.IP. Applicants can register for 2020 winter semester language courses from 27 March 2020 until 12 noon 17 April 2020 (see the FSZ course catalogue for language courses taking place outside of term time) when there will be a lottery in case courses are overbooked. Students can still register for courses afterwards until 8th May, provided that places are available, or they are placed on waiting lists. All language courses commence in the second week of term.

There is a form for prioritized course registration in case you need to visit a language course urgently, e.g. for an internship or a field trip or similar.

Attention: As the University Language Centre is not open to the public at the moment, we ask that you send us your completed application for prioritized course registration by e-mail (pelamattifsz.uni-hannover.de or zimon-koslowskifsz.uni-hannover.de). Instead of the signature and stamp of an institute staff member, we need an e-mail from an institute staff member confirming your application. The scan of the form and the confirming e-mail of the institute staff member must be received by us by the 16.04.2020 at 12:00 noon.

If you have any questions, please contact us by e-mail.

Students from other universities in Hannover may contact the course instructor on the first day of the course and ask for unallocated places. If a free place is availabe, the course instructor will organize your registration through our secretariat.

Guests may also contact the course instructor on the first day of the course and ask for unallocated places, but you have to bring the registration form for the course with you. You can download it here. If a free place is available, the course instructor will sign your registration form. Please submit the sheet to the guest auditor's office. You will then receive your Stud.IP access.
