German at the FSZ
The majority of the lectures at the Leibniz Universität Hannover are held in German. German is also the language used to communicate in the institutes, canteen and laboratories ... but also for shopping, going to the doctor or during leisure activities you will need to or want to speak German. Perhaps you would even like to discover and enjoy the beauty of the language.
Whether you are a prospective student, exchange student or doctoral student, or you simply want to participate in cultural life: our programme has something for everyone. It is important to us to provide a learning environment in which it is not only possible to learn the correct use of the verb forms and tenses; but also to feel comfortable using the language - for academic purposes, presentations, telling jokes and communicating with professors.
Perhaps you would like to work or live in Germany, or maybe you plan to return home after one or two semesters. It is important to us that you have the opportunity to learn and use the language to the best of your ability and thus benefit academically and professionally. It is said that the most refined German is spoken in Hannover. Perhaps not everywhere and not all of the time, but it is generally true. Thus, the FSZ and its surroundings are the perfect environment to learn German.
